A Gray’s place video

Description

Distorted digitised image of the outside of a large Victorian sandstone building. Steps with ornate iron railings lead up to a large front door to the right of a bay window. A large room with a dark red ceiling is visible through the window and the title says A Gray’s Place.

We zoom through the bay window into a large front room. The grainy point cloud image shows walls lined with books and pictures. A traditional old red oriental rug covers the centre of the floor with three shabby, mismatched chairs round a small brass coffee table in the middle.

Ornaments cover a large black fireplace with red tiles and an old gas fire. And there’s a large Apple Mac monitor on a small desk against the back wall of the room.

We pan right over a long wall completely covered with shelves of books. The top shelf is lined with paintings, mostly portraits. Further right is a large plan chest in front of the bay window, covered in pots of paints and brushes.

We return to focus on the wall at the back of the room again and zoom in on the graphical image of a man’s head, dissolving into round bubble pixels as it enlarges.

These dissolve slowly and we move, as though through a beaded curtain, into another smaller, lighter room. The view tilts and pans to show bare floorboards and a few bits of scruffy old furniture covered with artworks. Drawings, plans, framed and unframed paintings of all sizes hang on white walls and lean against them.

The image freezes and the word Goodbye! appears.
